@Silver_hand and I gave a talk about building your own CNC machine. The talk seemed very well received, and we had a lot of great questions from the audience at the end. Thanks to everyone who attended – you made the talk great!
Here’s the presentation in PPT, and PDF format.
And thanks to Sheri at MakerspaceNorth for hosting us tonight.
I am still kicking myseld that I found out about this presentation a week after it happened! Would have been perfect. Thank you so much for posting the presentation.
I have made my own multipurpose CNC (1000mm Y and 1200mm X) and have been so far using it as a router, plotter, and drag knife cutter. Just fitting a laser to it and have a better variable speed spindle coming. Using Linuxcnc for control and would really like to find someone local to chat with about certain integration aspects related to linuxcnc. Realize you are likely very busy but if you know someone that would be fantastic. I also intend to start hitting the meetings at Makerspace North next week (after Halloweeen is over)
Great web site by the way,
Stephen
Hi Stephen,
It’s too bad you missed us – we’ll be doing the presentation again in the early spring. I don’t have any experience with LinuxCNC, though I’m sure there are people at Makerspace North with experience using that control software. Hopefully you’ll meet some of them at the events. If you have other questions, I’m happy to help.
